KLAP - Question de Danse & SCENE44 Wendy Cornu - VOLUTES
In a certain search for the absolute, Wendy Cornu explores sound through the moving body. For VOLUTES, it is inspired by the polyphonic ensemble of the Middle Ages, visiting unison, counterpoint and harmony. Here, each of the eight dancers becomes a body and musical voice that expresses itself in its singularity and makes the space resonate.
The components of the sound lead to the constitution of the movement, following a process of instantaneous transposition where each dancer undertakes to become translator of the musical gennôme. The space of the stage has become a score, the sound universe is unfolding visually drawing from eclectic musical sources, baroque music, the melody of the spoken voice or even electronic music.
